When I first met Andre, I was very intimidated. He seemed like a big ole meany! I was pleasantly surprised that the saying is true, you can’t judge a book by its cover. He is a real teddy bear! When I started with Andre, I was physically quite weak, had no endurance to speak of and was rapidly becoming a butterball. In addition to losing 28 pounds and 8-3/4 inches from my waist and 5 inches from my hips, I have even lost 18% body-fat! My bad cholesterol has gone down, too. The weight loss has been great, and people are telling me I’m looking hott. The best thing for me, personally, is that I’m getting very strong! At first, I couldn’t even do one bent-knee pushup. Now I can do 20 regular push-ups in a row. And I’m getting good at wide-grip pull-ups, too. For the first time in my life, I can hoist those heavy carry-on bags over my head and into the airplane storage bins with no trouble. I even help some men with their bags. When I first met Dre last year, I was out of shape and my energy level was at an all time low. Last summer I ruptured my achilles tendon, and it was actually a blessing in disguise. For about four years, I had not consistently engaged in any sort of physical activity, and my athlete's body was showing signs of it: I was frequently out of breath after walking stairs or riding my bike, I could barely do push-ups, etc. Furthermore, I had gained over 40 pounds after my daughter was born, and although I had lost the majority of the weight, my body was not the muscular, shapely one I was used to. After my injury was on the road to healing, I decided to join a gym and go on a diet -- but despite paring down my meals and working out once or twice a week, I didn't see any results: no weight loss, no change in body composition. Over many months, I grew frustrated and resigned to the reflection in the mirror. Then, a friend told me about Dre and I read every detail on his website...and took the plunge. I am someone who never worked out on a regular basis my entire life and I don't particularly like exercise. I am the person who paid for the gym membership and never used it; and felt guilty about it! With a demanding job and two young children, there never seemed to be time to work out and I wasn't that motivated to make the time. If someone would have told me, “You are going to meet a man that will motivate you, inspire you, and encourage you to work out daily and change your diet…” I would have said, “You must be thinking of someone else.” Well, that is exactly what Dre has done for me. I have always been a person that loved the ‘idea’ of exercising, but needed the motivation and the boost to get started. After having my third child, I noticed it was not as easy to shed the baby fat as it was for the previous pregnancies.
